About Us

The Federation of Friends of the DC Public Library is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of independent Friends organizations from around the District of Columbia.

The Federation is dedicated to supporting Friends groups in their efforts to improve their communities through supporting their library branches, departments, or functions.

Representatives from Friends organizations across the District of Columbia gather on the fourth Wednesday of every other month to discuss issues and coordinate their activities. The meetings are held in the Martin Luther King Memorial Library (9th and G Streets, NW) and begin at 6:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Voting is limited to one representatives for Friends organization and the organization must be a paid member of the Federation ($25/year).
